15-Day Itinerary – Cultural Experience in Vietnam for International Travellers

Days 1-3: Hanoi – The Cultural Heart of Vietnam

Day 1:

  • Arrival in Hanoi, check-in at a hotel in the Old Quarter.
  • Cyclo (traditional three-wheeled bicycle) tour of the Old Quarter, visit O Quan Chuong Gate and Dong Xuan Market. 
  • Tasting bún chả and egg coffee.
  • (Optional) Water puppet show at Thang Long Theatre.

Day 2:

  • Visit the Temple of Literature, Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, and the One Pillar Pagoda.
  • Lunch at a traditional restaurant featuring nem, phở, and chả cá.
  • Visit the Museum of Ethnology to learn about Vietnam’s 54 ethnic groups.

Day 3:

  • Excursion to Bat Trang ceramic village: hands-on experience in pottery making.
  • Visit Tran Quoc Pagoda.
  • Free time to explore Hanoi’s street food scene.

Days 4-5: Ha Long Bay – A Natural Wonder of the World

Day 4:

  • Depart for Ha Long Bay, embark on a cruise.
  • Visit caves and explore a floating village by kayak.
  • Dinner and overnight stay aboard the cruise amidst the bay.

Day 5:

  • Sunrise Tai Chi session on the boat deck.
  • Return to Hanoi, rest and enjoy a light dinner.

Days 6-7: Ninh Binh – Ancient Capital Hoa Lu & Trang An

Day 6:

  • Travel to Ninh Bình, visit Bai Đinh Pagoda.
  • Explore the ancient capital Hoa Lu and take a boat ride through Trang An.
  • Overnight stay in a countryside homestay.

Day 7:

  • Hike to Mua Cave for a panoramic view of Ninh Binh.
  • Flight to Hue, overnight in Hue.

Days 8-10: Hue & Hoi An – Cultural Heritage of Central Vietnam

  • Excursion to Dam Chuon Lagoon to admire the scenic waterscape.
  • Visit An Bang Cemetery, known as the “City of Tombs.”
  • Transfer to Hoi An, overnight in a charming Old Town hotel.

Day 10:

  • Walking tour of Hoi An’s Old Town, visit the Japanese Covered Bridge and Tan Ky Ancient House.
  • Lantern-making workshop or tailor-made clothing experience.
  • Evening boat ride and lantern release on the Hoai River.

Day 11: Hoi An’s Traditional Villages

  • Visit Kim Bong carpentry village and Tra Que vegetable village.
  • Hands-on farming experience and a traditional Vietnamese cooking class.
  • (Optional) Attend the “Hoi An Memories” show with over 500 performers.

Days 12-13: Da Nang & The Mekong Delta

Day 12:

  • Visit the Marble Mountains and the Golden Bridge at Ba Na Hills.
  • Evening flight to Ho Chi Minh City.

Day 13:

  • Excursion to My Tho: folk music performance (Đàn Ca Tài Tử) and coconut candy-making workshop.
  • Stroll along Nguyễn Huệ Walking Street, tasting bánh mì and cơm tấm (Saigon-style broken rice).

Days 14-15: Ho Chi Minh City & Cu Chi Tunnels

Day 14:

  • Visit the Cu Chi Tunnels to learn about Vietnam War history.
  • Rice paper-making workshop and spring roll cooking experience.
  • Tour of the Reunification Palace, Central Post Office, and Ben Thanh Market.

Day 15:

  • Free time for souvenir shopping and enjoying Vietnamese coffee.
  • Departure with unforgettable memories.
